So through the storm I indeed Bundled and washed hair woohoo

So through my boredom of not being able to do anything else I WASHED MY HAIR!! Its a blizzard out there folks now they are predicting crazy amounts of snow through December 24th midnight! A couple inches each hour on top of the winds that are going to be up to 50mph the actual conditions of what they consider a blizzard is supposed to start at 2am to 6am.
well anyway I bundled my hair that didnt take long! i tried braiding it ... its still hard because its on the short side. i get so nervous washing my hair due to the fact i have such soft curly hair. i get paranoid they are going to all unraval! ;( I would be soooo upset. i know its just a part of the process, still getting used to it thats all!! so I took some before and after shots being silly! nothing more to do but be silly with the puppies so they got baths too!! Now they are drained by all the bath ane picture taking that they are napping along side of me! STAY WARM OUT THERE!!!! :)

So I live in Buffalo it snows

Oh boy so here we go Buffalo decided to finally have a winter and its all hitting in 2 3 DAYS. On friday we got two inches of snow an hour lasting approximately from 8am to 7pm! It was pure craziness. I can not believe that everyone panics when the snow comes especially because these are people that have lived here their entire lives! It is ridiculous!!!

The snow is good for me because I can truly have a day of rest today! I will finally get to washing my hair that needs it oh so bad!! i think I have gone almost 2 weeks without washing it YAY!! Its getting easiera nd easier not to want to wash it because it is such a process. you know the seperating it the loosely braiding it bundling it washing it that specific way and seperating after etc etc etc ... lol most of the time I say you know what Im too tired or lazy to want to do it! lol. I still have to get the vinegar and water potion from my mother!! She said she that would help my dry scalp!!! Yippee!! :) I hope everyone is staying nice and warm!! I know i am with the babies!! :)

What a terrible no good very bad day!

So, I live in western new york and I didn't get to bed until about 4am Tuesday. I wake up in a panic, omg I'm late for work!! OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I jumped up took a very short shower (but at least i am clean lol). Through on my clothes --and ran out the house. Needless to say i got to work and dontcha know i forgot to take my silk scarf off my head!!

very very very bad thing to forget to do. i do it everyday first thing i do take my scarf off so my locks can locks can fall back down!! INSTEAD all 350 locks smooshed to my head in every which direction. did i mention I had a meeting at 10am and it was 9am! I run a group home and 4 out of 5 boys were at school. I pulled the worse move ever, i turned on the shower in the bathroom let it steam up and tried to get work done while i sat in the bathroom LOL!!

good gracious what a girl will do to look good!

i am trying to figure out if its better to tie my hair down at night OR just get a silk pillow case??? Sigh very frustrating! Anyone have any suggestions!!?? I still have sooooo much dry scalp I HATE IT!!! HELP!

What a day!?Work and Hair

I woke up today and was having the WORSE hair day ever!! lol At least in terms of sisterlocks for me. I had little locks sticking up in every which way direction! Sigh not a good way to start off my day! Not to mention that i have crazy dry scalp right now which sucks even more because my locks are so new so they are not full yet.... frustrating. This whole process teaches me so much, it teaches me to practice my patience and that it TRULY is a virtue. I have to keep looking ahead and keep the bigger picture in mind!

I will say the funniest thing that has happened to me so far is that my new puppy who is a pug/boston terrior mix (BUGG) loves playing with my lil locks he likes climbing my shoulder and trying to tug at them. I love it! I love him his name is a MEATBALL, he is a lil ball of fire and he is working through this with me lol watching me bundle my hair lapping the water behind me! I love it! :) enclosed are some pictures of the cutest meatball ever!!

I was going to wash my locks today but i didnt feel like bundeling, and I am trying not to wash my hair that much which means i am trying to wash 1x per 2 weeks. Its SOOO hard. Prior to getting sisterlocks I was natural, but naturally curly!

It is so hard to go from washing my hair several times aday to not at all for 2 weeks. And than once a week.... so HARRRDD!! I try not to think about it... almost impossible! Anyone have any suggestions!.?????

I am very new to this blogging let alone sisterlocks.

The birth of my sisterlocks is 11-3-08!

I am Very excited!~

I originally saw sisterlocks for the very first time, when my mother got her installation! I will not lie that I was not into them.By no means was I a fan! i was not impressed by the initial look and feel.I too at the time was all natural, I as just a doubter. As my mother continued with the process,Islowly fell in love each and every day!~

To the point where I became a little jealous~

One month before my 25th birthday I decided to talk to my mom and tell her that I thought I was ready for this process. What do I have to loose! I already know that if I dont like it I can cut offall my hair,been there done that!!

My mom was soooo happy!

She was eager to get me started, made all the necessary efforts and appointments to get me in there and as my birthday gift paid for my installation along with my fantastic god mother.

(GREAT BDAY PRESENT!!)

So far, so good !

Im in love, especially when I think about where I am going to be by summer.

I have about 347 locks and it took approximately 4 hours to complete (KEISA IS FAST!!!) and I had about 2 inches to work with and now only a month and 2 weeks later I am up to 4 inches HOW EXCITING!!!!

I am going to learn more about this blogging thing and locking thing!!! :) There is more to come!!
